Don’t comprise on quality when feeding the poor: Sheikha Lubna

Dubai: HE Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, UAE Minister of International Cooperation and Development spoke at the annual event of Saahtain Foods where the company showcased its Tayyib Meals Ready to Eat solutions for the Humanitarian and Emergency sector. ‘Food is one of our most basic survival needs. Without a full stomach and adequate nutrition, a child cannot learn and grow, and an adult cannot be fully productive”.

She went on to say,’ For these reasons, the UAE has consistently prioritized food in its humanitarian response efforts. In the recent crises, such as Yemen, Gaza and the Philippines, food aid accounted for the largest portion of the UAE assistance’.

Tayyib Ready to Eat Meals are 100% Halal, 100% natural & highly nutritious localized meals that require no special storage. Manufactured in the UAE, Tayyib meals ready to eat have been bought by charities, corporates and individuals and have been sent to Gaza, Syria, Turkey, Ghana and Nepal.

HE Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi also noted,’ We know that simply delivering food is not enough. It needs to meet the nutritional needs and suit the circumstance of the recipients. During an emergency, the storage, packaging, transportation and preparation of food can pose major obstacles. Even when the food reaches those in need, they may not have the fuel, water or time to prepare it. Tayyib Meals provide an innovation solution to these challenges’.

“Innovation and quality conformity are the principles that guide our firm”, stated Adeel Khan, CEO of Saahtain Foods. “We bring private sector excellence to the UAE Government’s vision of International Humanitarian Aid ”.

Saahtain also launched its Rapid Emergency Deployment System (REDS) platform on Sunday 24th May in UAE, a new private-sector driven initiative which is understood to be the first of its kind in the region. A coalition of private sector firms - comprising aircraft, healthcare, food, water purification and media assets - will be able to respond immediately to help victims in neighboring countries in the event of a regional disaster, through the REDS platform.
